Comrade Bernard is the president of Ilorin University Medical Students' Association (ILUMSA   existing since 1979) 2014/2015.

ILUMSA according to the young leader is students association for Faculty of clinical sciences and also departmental association of students studying medicine and surgery.

Since assumption of office on 21st of february,2013. This current executive tenure has been able to achieve the following:
*Establishment of a fully functioning Secretariat.
*Representation of the association and school at various events and levels:
International association of  students' surgical societies(IASSS) in University of Cape town, South africa(2 delegates) and only representative from Western Africa.
